WTM Africa, now in its fifth year, is on track to deliver another outstanding Travel Trade Show at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 18 – 20 April 2018. World Travel Market Africa is the must attend business to business travel and tourism event that has become a true global marketplace for companies throughout the industry.
In 2017, WTM Africa saw an increase of 17% in travel professional at this year’s exhibition, while other indicators are reasons to celebrate the success of this world-class travel exhibition says Chardonnay Marchesi, General Manager of Africa Travel Week.

WTM Africa 2017 opened with over 8 000 pre-scheduled appointments between exhibitors and buyers, a year-on-year increase of 11%. While 66% of Buyers attended the exhibition for the first time.
With over 70 countries represented at WTM Africa 2017, it is also considered the most diverse show yet, with buyers in attendance from Zambia, Ethiopia, and Namibia for the first time. In terms of visitors to WTM Africa 2017, 82% were from South Africa, while 18% were international. In addition, WTM Africa saw 364 registered media in attendance.
Travel trade professionals’ account for the majority of the audience, attending to make new contacts, find new suppliers or meet existing ones, these professionals are interested in global and regional opportunities.
WTM Africa also welcomes buyers to the show through as WTM Buyers’ Club members or Hosted Buyers. Qualified as the key buyers in the industry these visitors are committed to doing their business at our event.
There are two buyer speed networking sessions during WTM Africa. In these sessions, the buyers will be seated and split according to the region and product interests. Each meeting lasts five minutes providing you with the opportunity to introduce yourself and exchange business cards. This is one of the most popular sessions at WTM Africa. Many exhibitors generate substantial business leads at these sessions.
