[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Apart from the border between them, there is so much shared by Zambia and Zimbabwe and these include the UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the wonders of the world, the majestic Mosi-oa-Tunya commonly referred to as Victoria Falls.

There is also the largest man-made lake in the world, Lake Kariba; and of course the mighty Zambezi River which feeds both the lake and the falls. Being neighbors, intermarriages would be expected and such unions no doubt has produced children, and perhaps the most famous is the internationally acclaimed artiste and undisputed Queen of Rave, Rozalla.

Rozalla S. Miller was born on March 18, 1964 in Ndola, Zambia to a Zimbabwean father who had crossed into Zambia in search of greener pastures during the colonial period. From an early age, Rozalla’s talent as an entertainer was evident and by the age of 13, she was singing on a children’s TV show, having already been popular at local events.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25437″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_column_text]At 18, Rozalla relocated with her parents to her father’s homeland just after Zimbabwe’s Independence from her birthplace and mother’s country. She stayed in Chinhoyi between 1982 and ’83 before moving on to Harare to learn elementary typing to please her parents who were not excited about her singing in a band.

However, Rozalla did sing in Harare, fronting for bands such as Rusike Brothers with whom she recorded Party Time which became an instant hit on the club scene in Harare and Bulawayo in 1984. Launching her solo career later on, she had five #1 hits on national radio in Zimbabwe, before relocating to London in 1988 on the invitation of Chris Sergeant, the owner of Unit Dance Music label.

Under Sergeant’s guidance, Rozalla worked with the Band of Gypsies, a production duo of Tim Cox and Nigel Swanston which produced her debut UK single Born to Luv Ya which became an instant club hit in 1990. However, it was the dance anthem Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) released the following year that thrust her on to the global stage.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25439″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_single_image image=”25438″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_column_text]Selling more than a million copies, Everybody’s Free peaked at #6 on the UK Singles Chart, and was a Top 10 hit across Europe, before cracking the American Billboard Top 40 in 1992. It subsequently gave birth to an album of the same title that year which spawned two more in the UK. Soon a deal was signed with Sony Music and Rozalla was the opening act for Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous tour across Europe.  [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25440″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_column_text]Rozalla released follow-up albums, and over the years has been consistent on the dance music scene. In 2009, she released a new album after several years, adding her surname Miller to her recording image. The album titled Brand New Version was more jazz/soul featuring less dance-oriented music, and she promoted it by performing as a support act for Billy Ocean’s 2009 UK tour.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25441″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_column_text]In 2015, Rozalla Miller released her latest musical offering, If You Say It Again which marked her return to the Top 10 of the Billboard Club Dance Charts after a long absence. She has followed the single with The Shadows of the Moon.

Rozalla who is a qualified beauty therapist is married to media mogul Alan Brydon. They have been married since 1997.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25442″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border”][vc_column_text]Afro Tourism salutes this incredible entertainer, internationally-acclaimed music star, beauty therapist, wife, city icon and heroine of two African countries, the Queen of Rave Rozalla S.
