When you’re in a long-term relationship, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the day to day and take your love for granted. That’s why it’s so important to take time to appreciate and honour the relationship with a romantic gesture. And is there any better way to do this than with a romantic getaway?
You don’t have to wait for a big anniversary or a special holiday. All you need is a weekend to steal your love away and supercharge your romance.
Here are 5 romantic ideas for a getaway weekend.
1. Paris, France
Is there anything more romantic than a weekend getaway to Paris, France. This destination just oozes romance, so no matter what you do here, you can bet this will be a memorable trip.
Whether this is your first time in Paris or your hundredth, you can plan a trip that you and your partner will always cherish.
Maybe you’ve already been to the Eiffel Tower, but how about getting a room with a view of the famous Parisian landmark? You can also gaze into each other’s eyes as you take a rowboat ride at Chateau de Versailles. And for a night out, snag some tickets to a show at Opera Garnier. It’s the perfect opportunity for a chic date where you’re both looking your best.
2. Ssese Islands
If your departure city is already in Europe, you may want to take more of an exotic getaway – without travelling to the other side of the world.
And if this sounds like your situation, you’re in for a treat at the Ssese Islands. This African destination has all the ingredients for the most romantic getaway while still maintaining that exotic vibe.
While here, you and your honey can relax and explore the islands at your own pace. Go island-hopping through the causeways. Spend time on the beautiful white-sand beaches. Take a stroll through Bugala Island’s tropical gardens and appreciate life’s bounty together.
3. Fiji Islands
In Fiji, you don’t really have to do a lot of planning. The destination itself is so breathtakingly beautiful that you can just park yourselves on the beach for the entire weekend.
When you’re looking to impress your partner, there’s nothing like a Fiji getaway. If you want to up your romance game, book a couples spa retreat for one of the weekend days. You can even relax with a massage by the beach.
Don’t save this experience for another time. It’s one that you can enjoy again and again if you’re open to investing in your relationship and life enjoyment. You are worth it!
4. Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos is a centrally located destination for many people, and it’s about as romantic as it gets.
The only disappointing part about this getaway is that you’ll feel like it’s not long enough.
So if you only have a weekend, you’re going to want to make the most of it. You don’t have to plan an extensive itinerary. In fact, it’s probably best if you choose one or two things to do while you’re in Mykonos.
You may want to spend the entire weekend lounging on Lia Beach. It’s an isolated beach with crystal blue water. And the best part is that it doesn’t get as crowded as some of the other Mykonos beaches. This island has a bit of a party reputation, and that’s probably not what you’re looking for during a romantic weekend.
You can even snag some snorkel gear and have fun exploring the crystal clear ocean waters with your loved one. Just be sure to bring sandals or water shoes because this is a pebble beach and not a sandy one.
5. Napa Valley, United States
Wine and romance go together like peanut butter and jelly. And when you add breathtaking scenery and outdoor adventuring, this weekend getaway is a no brainer.
Napa Valley, California, is the heart of American Wine Country. Here, you can visit world-famous wineries for tours and tastings. And you can have five-star dining experiences with your loved one. Some of the best restaurants in Napa Valley have received multiple Michelin Stars, so you know you’re in for a treat.
But even though it may seem this way, not everything you can do in Napa Valley revolves around wine. Well, not exactly.
As soon as you get here, you’ll notice the rolling hills dotted with beautiful vineyards. It’s a beautiful landscape that’s filled with outdoor adventuring possibilities. Take a hot air balloon ride or go mountain biking. Spas are also a great option if you want to increase your relaxation time.
Regardless of how long you’ve been together, your relationship is worthy of celebration. Spend a romantic weekend in any of these places to keep that spark going strong for years to come.
