My Zimbabwe Diary VIII: Salibonani Bulawayo!

June 14, 2016…

By 05.00, we were out of Hwange Safari Lodge like fugitives fleeing the long arm of the law. Obviously, a couple of activities had been lined up for the day and the sooner we got to Bulawayo, the better. Breakfast was packed and we all had our fill in the buses.

Bye Hwange!

We arrived at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel at 09:38 and checked in. This was going to be our home for now until the 2016 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is over.

After settling in and a little rest, we assembled downstairs, got in the buses and headed out to Matobo Hills Lodge for lunch.

Site inspection…

After an inspection of the lovely place, we had a delightful lunch before piling into safari jeeps and heading out for a Rhino trekking.

Off to see the rhinos…
Luckily we found the rhinos on time…
Cooling off…

From seeing rhinos we hiked up the Matobo Hills to enjoy the spectacular world view. We stayed a while and watched the sun set before leaving and heading back to our hotel.
