Countdown to Zanzibar Tourism Investment & Travel Expo 2023

The first Zanzibar Tourism Investment & Travel Exhibition (ZTITE), themed ‘Greener Zanzibar’ is scheduled to take place from 9-11 February 2023. Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT) is hosting the event in partnership with Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority and the Department of Museum & Antiquity of the Ministry of Tourism & Heritage.

The purpose is to bring tourism professionals & stakeholders, tourism investors, conservationists and like-minded stakeholders from both public and private sectors in a conducive environment to trade and discuss sustainable tourism practices, current movements and share knowledge.

ZTITE2023 will serve as a platform to showcase the expected sustainable tourism vision of the Zanzibar tourism sector and investment climate along with business networking opportunities and solutions to existing challenges in the tourism ecosystem.

This 3-day event will include a travel buyers lounge, tourism investment forum, workshops, panel discussions and the exhibition itself. Among the guest speakers for the event is Rob Wild of Space Nature/York University.

The Zanzibar Declaration on Sustainable Tourism

The Zanzibar Declaration on Sustainable Tourism is an informal statement of intent and a rallying cry for the Zanzibar tourism industry to take real strides towards sustainability, in support of people, planet and prosperity.

It recognises and contributes to global sustainable tourism actions adopted by international institutions and world leaders; this includes the One Planet Network Glasgow Declaration: Climate Action in Tourism with which this declaration is aligned, and many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

ZTITE 2023 aims to promote eco-tourism by effectively managing and conserving Zanzibar’s cultural, environmental and historical resources.
