The collections include the nomadic tribal groups that are now living just as man's forefather lived thousands of years back. Overnight-Jupiter Hotel or Similar Mean (B)   Day 3 Full day city tour: After breakfast you will visit Unity Park. Unity Park is located at the Grand Palace in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a compound that has been a seat of state for more than a century. The total land coverage of the grand palace is 40 acres and it contains myriads of historical buildings and plants that date back to the time of emperor Menelik II, the founder of the Grand Palace. The Nobel Prize winner premier of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, converted the palace in to a park in 2019. A visit to the park takes minimum half a day and it includes:- Menelik Palacce Complex: It refers to the octagonal structure and other collection of historical buildings that were built at the time of Emperor Menelik II. This Complex consists of private prayer room of Emperor Menelik II and the Emperor’s watching tower, Emperor Menelik II’s office, Menelik IIʼs bedroom and Reception Room, Etege Taytu Betul’s Bedroom, the Minister of War’s Waiting Room, The Princes’ Bedroom, Council of Ministers and a small banquet hall. The first telephone for the entire country was also installed to this building.   The “Throne Hall”: It is where Ethiopia’s monarchs would meet with the provincial lords of aristocratic backgrounds and royal lineage to discuss local issues and make important decisions on subjects such as land tax. On special occasions, the space was also used to welcome nobles and foreign dignitaries. Queen Elizabeth II of British, Charles De Gul of France and Joseph Broz Tito of Yugoslavia were only few of the distinguished world leaders to be received in this Hall during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie. The Throne Hall is highly decorated with precious stuccos covering the walls and ceiling. It takes its name from the large, golden throne displayed in the center. There are plinths featuring the Star of David, the symbol of the Solomonic Dynasty, at the base of the columns supporting the canopy holding the crown. At the top, statues of angels extend their arms, expressing praise.   Menelik’s Banquet Hall: Commonly called ‘Gibir adarash’, the banquet hall was built during the reign of Emperor Menelik II. In 1963 following the establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), Emperor Haile Selassie had organized a feast for the founding fathers of OAU in this same Hall. In 2019, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PHD) had hosted a dinner valued at USD170, 650.00 per seat as part of raising money for the project ‘Beautification of Addis Ababa’. Black Mane Lion Zoo: It is one of two zoos in United Park, with a variety of animal species that can represent Ethiopia. Here, clients will be visiting the black mane lion endemic to Ethiopia. In the afternoon you will visit St. George Cathedral and Merkato.   St. George Cathedral: The church of St. George is a very traditionally structured building. Menelik II following his victory over the Italians at the Battle of Adwa built the octagonal church in 1896. St. George the dragon killer was the patron saint of soldiers and it is to him that the church is dedicated. In St. George church, the most interesting thing is the artwork of both modern and traditional church painting.   Merkato:-It is the largest open-air market in Africa. Here you will be presented with confusing, but fascinating, glimpse of the vast range of goods and artifacts available from all parts of the country and you will enjoy the Ethiopian trade exchange tradition in the open air, you can purchase anything you desire here.   Overnight-Jupiter Hotel or Similar Mean (B)   Day 4 Full day city tour : In the morning you will visit Mount Entoto. Mount Entoto:-It is the highest peak in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meters, which was the site for the first palace of Emperor Menelik-II, the founder of Addis Ababa. Here there is St. Mary church, it is where Emperor Menelik crowned Emperor. The unusual octagonal shaped church is large and imposing and is a replacement for the tiny round church Menelik first had built on the site in 1877.  Menelik’s wife, Empress Titu, who died in 1918, was originally buried in an unprepossessing tomb on Entoto, but she was later moved to a final resting place more befitting her status – next to her husband in Taeka Negest Ba’eta Le Mariam Monastery in Addis Ababa.   Next to the church there is small interesting museum crammed with religious artifacts. Additionally there   is the gold medal won by Derartu Tulu for the women’s 10,000-metre race at the summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000.  Derartu donated her medal to the museum in thanks to God and the church as she had trained at altitude on Entoto Mountain in preparation for the games.   Close to the church is Emperor Menelik’s palace, built in 1883. This building is relatively small and very simple in design. The roof is thatched and the interior is plain, a humble residence for the ‘father’ of modern Ethiopia.where Emperor Menelik crowned Emperor in it and you will admire the stupendous views of the city with its surrounding plains and volcanic cones together with its breath-taking air.   In the afternoon you will experience pottery and Weaving . Pottery: Is one of the cottage industries and it is a means of producing house hold utensils from clay mud where it is available. Poetry is normally done by women like other African nations.  Here, you can see the whole process of making a poetry, which means, making, drying, and firing to make it strong and durable.   Weaving: This is the making cultural clothes with different designs in a traditional way.  Here you can see while the weavers are weaving and selling the products in the nearby to their weaving place.  The main produces are the traditional Shema Clothes like Gabi, Netela, and so on from cotton, which are completely in different style with other industrially, make nylon clothes.  The national cloth is also made in the same way.  Even if weaving is the activity that can be done in every part of the country, there are people who are specialized for this activity and making cultural clothes with a quality in many different forms. These are Dorze people, one of the Southern nations and Nationalities who are known also by beehive shaped houses that when practically seen looks like more an elephant head.  In Addis Ababa, they are leading in supplying the cultural clothes.   Overnight-Jupiter Hotel or Similar Mean (B)   Day 5 City tour + Departure: In the morning you will visit Zoological National Museum and Patriarchate museum and library   The Zoological Natural History Museum (ZNHM) was established in 1955 E.C with the aim of collecting and preserving the wildlife heritage of Ethiopia and to exhibit it for society and the younger generation.
