This houses the Old Residency building where many original artefacts in Nigeria can be seen. Gate fee is N100. The museum environment is beautiful and it overlooks the Calabar river. Tourists will also find fascinating sculptures of Monoliths – which were used by ancient indigenes of Ikom as ‘clock’ – to determine time and season. Cameras are not allowed into this museum. The staff of this museum will not open the museum for a single tourist if there is no electricity supply. Group tourists are preferred as it seems to provide more value for money, despite the fact that it is a public tourist location. There are gift shops within the building where artefacts, bangles, crafts, magazines, books and other souvenirs are been sold. The prices of some of the items however are very expensive.
