Walking and strolling N’Djamena’s streets is not a bad idea, as it gives you an amazing opportunity to observe, interact and experience the buzzing street life of the locals. A good place to do this is Avenue Charles de Gaulle – the main shopping and business district of N’Djamena. Lining this avenue are embassies, high-end restaurants and Victorian-era buildings. You’ll also find the Nation Square – a boulevard of gardens, playing grounds for kids, and walking paths that stretch into few kilometres. Some of N’Djamena’s coolest local and intercontinental restaurants, cafes and bars are located on this Avenue.
