A museum that commemorates the Soweto Youth Uprising and the children that gave their lives for freedom and democracy (see ‘Tour Soweto’), named after one of the first victims shot- 12 year old Hector Pieterson.

Situated in Orlando West, Soweto, the museum is just a few blocks from where Hector and many others were killed in 1976. It was opened in 2002 on the 16th June (Now Youth Day in South Africa) and is dedicated to preserving the memory of the 1976 uprising with collections of oral testimonies, pictures, audiovisual displays and historical documents.
