For 17 years from 1912 when it was officially opened to traffic until 1929, the Sidi M’Cid Bridge was the highest bridge in the world measuring 175m above Rhumel River. The iconic monument, a 164m-long hybrid suspension bridge with cable stays designed by French engineer Ferdinand Arnodin, offers breathtaking views of the town and the gorge below. The bridge links the Casbah to the Sidi M’Cid Hills.
